In 1993, Sean entered law school at South Texas College of Law.  There, he excelled to become one of the top students in his graduating class.  Sean earned a position on the South Texas Law Review where he published a comment in 1996 titled “College Athletes, Universities, and Workers’ Compensation:  Placing the Relationship in the Proper Context by Recognizing Scholarship Athletes as Employees.”  Sean also participated in national champion moot court and mock trial teams.  Although his outstanding law school record earned him offers from many top ranked law firms throughout the country, Sean decided to stay in Houston and accept an offer from Vinson & Elkins as an Associate when he was 24 years old.

At Vinson & Elkins, Sean flourished in the trial section of the firm.  During his first two years, he tried several jury trials and became one of the firm’s rising stars.  In 2001, Sean left Vinson & Elkins to join Abraham Watkins, an elite law firm, representing plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury cases, where he became the youngest person offered partnership in the 53-year history of the firm, however Sean decided to leave and start his own law firm in 2005.

Sean now manages The Roberts Law Firm, a six-lawyer litigation boutique specializing in domestic and international business disputes.  A board certified trial lawyer, Sean has earned the distinction among his peers as a “Texas Rising Star” and “Texas Super Lawyer” each year since 2004.  He is recognized among the local judiciary as a “fearless” protector of the rights of those who have been wronged in business transactions.

Despite his commercial achievements, Sean has always spent considerable time working to improve the lives of others.  Sean is a Life Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation, a member of the board of directors of Project Row Houses (a neighborhood  preservation and local art charity), a member of the board of directors of the Tairon Gray Foundation (a mental health charity) and a founder of the HBCU Landscaping Endowment.  In 2004, Houston Mayor Bill White appointed Sean to serve on the city’s Contract Compliance Commission.  Sean attends church at the Community of Faith and is a firm believer in good stewardship, the obligation to help those less fortunate, and leaving a positive legacy for the next generation.
